Subject: White Ribbon Campaign - Men working to end men's violence against women

Greetings:

Each year, the White Ribbon Campaign urges men and boys to wear a ribbon for one or two weeks, starting on November 25, the International Day for the Eradication of Violence Against Women, until December 6, Canada's National Day of Remembrance Violence Against Women.

The White Ribbon Campaign is a campaign of men, aimed at men. Wearing a ribbon is a statement of men's opposition to violence against women and a personal pledge never to commit, condone nor remain silent about violence against women.

The White Ribbon Campaign is the largest effort in the world of men working to end men's violence against women. In the early 1990s, a handful of men in Canada decided that we have a responsibility to urge men to speak out against violence against women. They decided that wearing a white ribbon would be a symbol of men's opposition to men's violence against women.

The White Ribbon Campaign is an educational organization to encourage reflection and discussion which leads to personal and collective action among men. This year again, the Campaign has produced posters and other education material for distribution. You can order White Ribbons, Lapel pins, Posters and other material by placing an order at www.whiteribbon.ca or 416-920-6684.
