This is your official invite to the various Pride Parades in which CAW is officially participating. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender caucuses in the various regions have been doing lots of work organizing for these events. We know we are going to have a great time and we are really encouraging any of you who can come to join with us. Please remind your leadership, human rights committees, women's committees, and flying squads about the parades. The presence of allies means a lot and it sends a strong message to the community that labour is proud to represent LGBT members and issues. We know that these events are not only fun but also political. Please come out and help us send our message!
In Toronto (thanks to the Oshawa & Area, Golden Horseshoe LGBT Caucuses and Local 1285 Pride Standing Committee):
On Sunday June 29, 2003 we are meeting at our float parked on Church St. north of Bloor. We will be decorating our float from 12 noon to 2 pm with the parade starting at 2. Please come help out! Come with your black CAW pride t-shirt. We'll have extras to sell if you don't have one ($15 each) or stickers to paste on any old black t-shirt or tank top. This will help us look fabulously united!
