Universities and Colleges
There are approximately 3,300 CAW members employed in the Universities and Colleges sector. There is a great deal of diversity of our members across this sector, performing a range of different jobs including instructional assistance, nuclear reactor operation, administrative and financial service, parking attendance, research, laboratory support, custodial service and skilled trades work, to name only a few.
Most of our membership is located within the province of Ontario with roughly 2250 members at McMaster University, almost 400 members at the University of Windsor and two smaller units at the University of Toronto and in Sudbury. However, the CAW also represents a group of 380 workers at the University of Manitoba and over 100 workers at St.Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia.
