Vince Hogan
Siemens Worker CAW Local 504

"It was a shock when the company did this. Just sold our jobs to the U.S. Plain and simple it sucks. What are our job prospects in this city with thirty years of service? Where are we going? Everyday there's more plant closures. And it stinks."

Janice Platt
Siemens Worker CAW Local 504

"It's very depressing. It's like a death in the family. I've worked here so long that. I mean these are all my family here."

Chris Charlton
NDP MP Hamilton Mountain

"Just a couple of weeks before the federal government tabled its federal budget. And it said you know what? What companies need to stay in our country is corporate tax cuts. That will fix the problem. Well you know what, Siemens is getting those corporate tax cuts and their taking your jobs and their moving them south."

Ken Lewenza
CAW President

"What I want to say to premier McGuinty. Use the power of government to reverse this decision. To prime minister Harper. How many manufacturing jobs are we going to lose before you recognize the painful aftereffects of good paying decent jobs? Who's going to pay for our healthcare? Who's going to pay for our public infrastructure? Who's going to pay for public education when you lose decent paying jobs?"

Randy Smith
President CAW Local 504

"We build a quality product here. We made billions of dollars of profit and then they drop this on us. Siemens has announced that they have lots of jobs coming into the Ontario province and if those jobs are coming into this province they better be coming here to Hamilton."

Doug Brown
Unit Chair CAW Local 504

"We've got a plant here that's going to be empty in a little over a year. Maybe they should be putting something else, another product or something in here that so we can work on it."

Ken Lewenza
CAW President

"They hired over fifty thousand people globally in the last twelve months in strategic countries throughout the world. So there's an opportunity here to facilitate this plant with value added work. It doesn't have to be a closure."
