New Agreement at Autoport in Nova Scotia

CAW members who work at Autoport in Nova Scotia have voted 89 per cent in favour of a new three-year agreement that provides wage and pension improvements as well as a retiree benefit plan.
CAW Local 100 members at Autoport located at Eastern Passage in Nova Scotia receive a two per cent wage increase in each year of the agreement, a pension increase of one per cent, increases to sick day and bereavement time, and a retiree benefits plan, which allows members to bridge to employee-funded benefit plan.
Chairperson Jeff Miller said the membership was pleased with the improvements ranging from wages to the pension plan, while President Steve Jessome said the strong membership support for the bargaining committee helped achieve the new collective agreement.
CAW Local 100, Lodge 1 represents 97 workers at the facility who offload vehicles from ships and move them onto CN Rail railcars for transportation in eastern North America.
