Gerry Farnham
CAW Local 195 President

"It is our understanding that there will be a viewing of the equipment at Aradco Aramco staring this morning at 9 o'clock and going to 5 o'clock and that there will be an auction held tomorrow, November 17th . And as I speak to you we have workers blocking both facilities and it is our intention to advise potential buyers who are wanting to view the items to be auctioned that it is not in their best interests to purchase this equipment."

De Ho
Ardaco CAW Chair

"I lose my job by the Catalina. They stole my money. I have been there 17 years and I don't get nothing. They walk away and I don't get nothing."

Louis Fortuna
Aramco Worker 13 years

"Food banks. I've done that too. Last year I donated. This year I'm going to get it. You know it is not a good situation. I just bought a house two years ago and I'm finding it really tough right now."

Mike Dunning
CAW Local 195 Financial Secretary

"The cops just informed me that no one is going to try to enter in here today. Everybody has left.

Gerry Farnham
CAW Local 195 President

"They're the criminals. Grass root criminals."

De Ho
Ardaco CAW Chair

"You look at my sign now. They stole my money. They stole my money! They took away my food for my kids.!"

Dave Crosswell
CAW Local 200 Financial Secretary

"The issue is right there. The issue is these guys are short of money. $20,000! How much right there, $25,000, $19,000, $18,000, $28,450. The issue is those workers being robbed of their severance! That's the issue here."

Retiree

"They should be first in line to get their severance package. They do it in the European countries. They don't do it in Canada."

Windsor Police

"They've agreed to postpone this auction. I don't have any information on when the next auction will be held. I assure you and I guarantee you. I assure you and I guarantee you that there will be no auction today. That's my promise."

Gerry Farnham
CAW Local 195 President

"The police have told us that 100%. They have done it in front of the media. The auctioneers have agreed that that they will stand down. The Radisson is out of the way. We're going to be watching this thing in detail. I want to thank you all for your support and we will be there for the next one as well."

De Ho
CAW Aradco Chair

"I feel on behalf of my membership, my co-workers and all the CAW in Windsor I'm very happy to hear the news that we cancelled the auction today. So that means we showed our strength and we're going to fight for the next one."

Gerry Farnham
CAW Local 195 President

"Our position is those workers are entitled to, legally entitled to some monies. And if nobody is speaking up on their behalf, so unfortunately you have to go to these steps in order to get these types of things to stand down and hopefully it reaches somebody's ears at Catalina and Comerica Bank to say hey we'd better divvy up for these workers."

Colette Hooson
CAW National Representative

"The solidarity of the Windsor rank and file, the leadership in Windsor and the leadership of Local 195 all pulling together did a tremendous job over the last couple of days. It makes us all feel optimistic."

Gerry Farnham
CAW Local 195 President

"What came of out of the meeting was that, they were told our position, that there has to be a resolve re the money that's owed to these workers. The company has agreed , Catalina has agreed to stand down from the auction until the next opportunity we get to reconvene and hopefully at that time we will be able to find a resolve to this issue."
