The CAW 1285 Chrysler Action Centre will be hosting a graduation ceremony tomorrow evening for the 24 students completing Building Environmental Systems Operator courses at Sheridan College, a joint labour, government and post-secondary education initiative.

The condensed 36 week program was one of three courses organized by the CAW Local 1285 Chrysler Action Centre in conjunction with Sheridan College and the Ontario Government, specifically designed for laid off workers.

The laid off autoworkers from the Brampton Chrysler Assembly Plant were given an opportunity take part in the unique training after losing their jobs at the plant in March 2008 with the elimination of the third shift.

In attendance will be newly graduated students, local union representatives and representatives from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and Chrysler Canada.
