Members of CAW Local 199 employed at Coutts Information Services in Niagara Falls have voted in favour of a new three year contract by 89%. The ballots were cast at a meeting on August 10.

The contract includes improvements to benefits and a new sick leave accrual system. Workers will also see a wage increase of approximately $1.10 to $2.25 per hour over the life of the agreement.

"We were quite pleased with the collective agreement and we achieved a substantial pay increase which is tough to do in these economic times" said Wayne Gates, CAW Local 199 president. "The CAW continues to fight for better wages and benefits and has successfully done so here."

This agreement has been the fourth successful contract for Coutts employees since joining the CAW in 2000.
