Canada Without Poverty is a multi-partner, non-profit group with the purpose of bringing together Canadians in the fight to make the nation poverty-free. The organization has a goal to reach a more socially secure and united Canada by 2020.
Founded in 1971, Canada Without Poverty (formerly NAPO -National Anti-Poverty Organization), has established itself as a well known anti-poverty organization. The campaign "Dignity For All: The Campaign for a poverty-free Canada" was founded this year by Canada Without Poverty and Citizens for Public Justice. Already, there are 67 groups and 639 individuals signed for support.
The Dignity for All campaign has three main objectives, a comprehensive plan for the elimination of poverty, a federal act to promote social inclusion and to force sufficient federal revenue to invest in social security.
The CAW encourages all members to support the campaign. Members can pledge their support at www.dignityforall.ca. Stay tuned for frequent updates on the national website and in the union's newsletter CONTACT.
