A strike by Veteran Cab drivers in Windsor, Ontario continues as CAW Local 195 members remain off the job in a dispute over lease rates for 195 cabs.

Approximately 300 drivers at Veteran cab are fighting to reduce weekly lease rates for their cabs as well as taking on other issues. The strike started April 2.

CAW Local 195 President Gerry Farnham said the costs drivers face truly ad up with $452 in weekly lease rates, plus gas of $25 a day equaling $627 a week for a 12-hour shift that must be earned before putting any money into their own pockets.

Farnham said CAW members are trying to win a fair rate that enables them to support families, after expenses are paid.
