Say Goodbye to CLAC

You Deserve Real Representation

CAW members from The Village of Wentworth Heights, Hamilton, Ontario

Workers deserve representation from a strong democratic union - that's why workers have continued to contact us about leaving the Christian Labour Association of Canada in order to join to the CAW.

CAW represents over 20,000 health care members working in hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes, health clinics, ambulance services and social services - we truly are the union for Health Care workers.

As a union, we understand the demands that health care workers face as employers continuously erode job security and workplace conditions, all the while increasing demands.  We also recognize that the growth and dominance of for profit operators in this sector and their preference to place shareholder rights ahead of the workers and patients is having a grave impact.  As workers, we are in this struggle together.

The CAW is committed to:

-Lobbying for funding to strengthen and expand the public health system as well as protect public facilities and services against creeping privatization.
-Negotiating agreements that deliver real and consistent gains including training and improved safety measures on the job.
-Providing members with a real voice in our union through our Health Care Council.
