Say Yes to a Coalition Government

Say Yes to a Coalition Government
Support is growing across the country for the idea of a coalition government in the form of a partnership between the NDP and the Liberal Party with the support of the Bloc Québécois. In the last election, these three parties captured 62 per cent of the vote, the overwhelming support of Canadians.
Organized Labour, community groups, activists and citizens are mobilizing across Canada to make their voices heard in support of a progressive government that will look out for the best interests of all Canadians. This means showing the Stephen Harper Conservatives the door!
You can get involved!
The Canadian Labour Congress, in coordination with its member unions and numerous community groups, are organizing a series of demonstrations and rallies across the country, taking place December 4 - December 6, 2008.
Rallies will take place in the following locations: Vancouver, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, St. John's, Halifax, Charlottetown, Moncton and across Quebec.

Save the Federal Gun Registry! Say NO to Bill C-391
The CAW has joined with hundrds of thousands of Canadians aross this country calling on MPs to vote NO for Bill C-391 - a Conservative-lead private members bill intended to dismantle Canada's long gun registry - the existing government program that administers the registration of rifles and shotguns. CAW President Ken Lewenza said:
The decision by a number of NDP MPs to change their vote on the national gun registry is courageous and a recognition that public safety must be paramount...I am hopeful that we can count on progressive MPs to defeat this potentially disastrous Bill.
