WHSC - Level II - Law (Workers Health and Safety Centre - Federal)

This program equips participants with an understanding of existing federal safety and health law and its deficiencies. Participants learn to develop strategies to improve working conditions and worker well-being. Program topics include: the magnitude of work-related injuries, the history of safety and health legislation; the duties and rights or workplace parties under Part II of the Code; the right to refuse dangerous work; the role and powers of Joint Safety and Health Committees and safety and health representatives; the duties of safety officers and how they obtain and monitor compliance with Part II of the Code and its regulations; the Canada Occupational Safety and Health Regulations; other relevant legislation, and the ways laws are changed and interpreted.

WHSC - Level I Canadian is a prerequisite.
