Take Part in Earth Hour!
March 21, 2013, 3:45 PM EST
Earth Hour will take place on Saturday, March 23 2013 at 8:30 p.m. - local time.
Earth Hour is the single, largest, symbolic mass participation event in the world. Born out of a hope of mobilizing people to take action on climate change, Earth Hour now inspires a global community of millions of people in 7,001 cities and towns across 152 countries and territories to switch lights off for an hour as a massive show of concern for the environment.
With the recognition of the CAW's role as a socially progressive union, the CAW National Executive Board has historically endorsed the union's participation in Earth Hour.
The CAW is proud to join the hundreds of organizations around the world in making a statement that action on climate change is possible.
The CAW encourages members to take an hour for the earth on Saturday night.
Through the union's participation in Earth Hour and the imminent operational start-up of the clean energy wind turbine at the CAW Family Education Centre, the CAW will reaffirm its commitment to creating a sustainable future for our members and all others with whom we share the planet's limited resources.
