This NEW program aims to inspire and empower the next generation of CAW activists. The course will provide young members (30 years of age and younger) with a strong foundational understanding of our union's history and structure as well as the necessary tools to play an active role in the union and affect change in the workplace and the broader community. The course intends to develop the skills of young members and instill the confidence necessary to meaningfully participate in the many facets of union life and advocate for the rights of young workers.
The course will explore what it means to be a union activist and what it means to be a young worker. Participants will learn about current campaigns and struggles including the systemic challenges facing youth at work and in society. Through a mixture of workshops, open forums and activities, members will have an opportunity to share their experiences and engage in rich discussion.
