The CAW is on strike at Bombardier in Thunder Bay, as of 4 p.m. today, after a breakdown in negotiations.

Negotiations fell apart over demands for cuts to the pension plan, particularly for new workers.

Talks have been ongoing since April and the approximately 700 workers represented by CAW Local 1075 have been without a new contract since the agreement expired on May 31.

The Bombardier Thunder Bay facility manufactures bi-level rail cars, street cars and subway cars.
