John Milloy
Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities

"As of today we have over forty two thousand Ontarians who have taken part in the second career program and here at this action centre we have four hundred and eighty nine people that have either completed second career or are in the process of completing second career. I want to congratulate you for your hard work, for your determination, for your courage and I also want to thank, and I know we have many family members here tonight, family and friends that have provided you with the support and encouragement that you need."

 Arvinder Saini
PMP Workers Action Centre Committee Member

"This action centre gave us courage, hope and finally gave us direction on where to go."

Harry Nguyen
PMP Workers Action Centre Peer Helper

"The CAW was involved a lot in opening the centre. Without the CAW I don't think the people would have been strong enough to open the centre themselves."

Marcia Seinor-Skeen
PMP Workers Action Centre Peer Helper

"The CAW stepped in and helped us and that was a huge accomplishment for us because we were not unionized workers and for them, as a union, to come in and help us, that gave us the biggest satisfaction."

Ken Lewenza
CAW National President

"It is a significant message that labour, government, employers, academics, the education system can work together in the best interest of those that lose their jobs through no fault of their own. I call it nation building, I call it opportunity. If you give people the tools to succeed in Canada they can succeed. Each and everyone of you are going to make a contribution to Canada and on behalf of the Canadian Auto Workers Union, I thank you for giving us the opportunity to come into your homes, to provide the little bit of assistance you needed to get over the top. I want to thank you for inspiring our union."

 Nika Ngo
PMP Workers Action Centre Peer Helper

"I have a chance to go back to school for one more year and I am going to go because I want to be a great Chef. That is my goal."

Annie Trinh
PMP Workers Action Centre Graduate

"I am happy, after my internship at the Elginwood long term care I got the job right away"

 Oriel Hall
PMP Workers Action Centre Committee Member

"We were losing our courage and all that, they came forward and helped us and told us to hang in there and we did hang in there for sixteen days. Due to that we got the Action Centre because they spoke to the government and we got the Action Centre. So they played a great roll and without the CAW I don't know what would have happened to us."

Fred Zanduada
PMP Workers Action Centre Graduate

"I was so sad when I found out that the PMP Workers Action Centre was finally closing down but the memories will still be with us forever."

 Marissa Chattarpaul
PMP Workers Action Centre Graduate

"Now that I have these skills, I really want to dedicate myself to helping others and giving back to my community."
