Julie White
CAW Women's Programs Director

"We're here at the Steel Workers hall, participating in the International Women's Day March. We're mobilizing women around a number of issues that are important. It has just been a continuous attack on women in this country and we're fed-up and we are ready to fight back! We're here to celebrate but we are also here to mobilize activists for the up-coming federal election. "

Peggy Nash
Assistant to CAW National President

"We have to stand up proudly as union women and men and we have to challenge those at the top. So this International Women's Day, when we march we march as proud feminists. We march as proud progressives. We march as proud trade unionists and we demand a revolution. Thank you. "

Yvonne Quigley
CAW Local 1106

"We're going to make a stand together with men and like Peggy was saying, fight the movement that is going on at the moment to bring down unions."

Ruth Pryce
CAW Local 1106 Vice President

"I think it is time the world stood up and recognized what we women have done."

Shawn Rouse
CAW Ontario Health Council President CAW Local 1106 Financial Secretary

"There is a political agenda against us taking away the gains of the past and we have to stand up against that."

Jennifer Arango
Toronto Women's City Alliance

"Girls and women now more than ever need our city to prioritize affordable access to publicly funded services. We are opposed to the cut backs and privatization and we will fight back. We must contact our elected officials and demand that better services be re-instated."

Rosemarie Powell
Jane Finch Green Jobs Coalition

"By ensuring that women like all of us here have access to good social services, society will ensure they continue to participate fully in every aspect of their community. I believe that you shouldn't have to leave your neighborhood to live in a better one. Let's make change happen. Let's make change happen here. Together in solidarity we can. Thank you."

Eva Graham
CAW Local 2002

"It gives me hope for the future. I am the mother of two children and it allows me to do what I do. It empowers me."

Susan Erskine-Fournier
CAW Local 199

"I'm celebrating the 100th anniversary of the International Women's Day and I think it is an incredible thing that we are doing."

Angela Bresolin
CAW Local 112

"I just think that we need to be here to support it. If we don't then we don't have a voice. "
